Well sis, stay tuned to the end of this video because I'm going to share with you the three steps to starting an email list for your t- shirt business so that you can create an audience to serve over and over again online.

1. Figure out Your Niche
The first step one to creating a t- shirt business email list is to figure out your niche. What kind of t- shirts are you wanting to sell online? Now, the reason why we want to figure out our niche first and that's the actual demographic that we're serving. We want to know that we are building an email list of people who like those kind of shirts. There's no point in wanting to sell fitness shirts in your t- shirt business, and then create an email list of people who never work out. They're not going to buy your shirts. So you want to make sure you're clear on the types of shirts you want to sell. First, make sure you align yourself with what God purposed you to do as a Christian entrepreneur, okay? It is 100% possible to complete to create a business that you don't really want. So make sure that whatever niche you chose aligns with your God given purpose. 2. Lead Magnet
Now that you know your niche; the types of shirts that you want to sell, the second step is to create what's called a lead magnet that attracts those type of people who want to buy those types of shirts. A lead magnet is a digital product that you give away for free in exchange for somebody's email address. Now, I really, really recommend making this as simple as possible, somebody will be creating these crazy lead magnets and I’m like: “breh, a checklist will be fine”. Like an example of a lead magnet. Let's say I'm creating a collection of fitness shirts for Christian women, right? So an example of a lead magnet a digitally magnet to attract Christian women who work out would be 10 Bible Verses That Empower Christian Women to Work Out. This attracts the type of women that I want to be buying my shirts. So think about who you want buying your shirts and think about what lead magnet is going to attract that person. So when you're creating your lead magnet, you're going to want to make this digital so that it doesn't cost you anything out of pocket in order to give it to your potential customer.
The way that you get it into your customer’s hands is to set up something called a squeeze page. A squeeze page is a one page website. It is a landing page where somebody can enter in their email address so that you can then email them the lead magnet you created. Now, you can use so many different systems to set up your landing pages. I personally use Click Funnels. I love Click Funnels, but Click Funnels is $97 a month. It is pricey, especially when you're starting out. There are plenty of free landing pages you can create. So Wix has landing page options. Shopify has landing page plugins. WordPress has landing page plugins. So there is a route that you can go that makes it like free 99. So definitely go that route, just do your research. But you basically want to set up the squeeze page or the landing page that somebody can actually enter in their email address to get your digital lead magnet.
3. Social Media Marketing
And third, once you've set up your lead magnet and you have your squeeze page running, you are good to go. Now sis, you want to use social media marketing to get your lead magnet in front of your potential customers. Now here's an example. Let's say that I created the lead magnet of the 10 Bible Verses That Christian Women Can Use to Empower Them to Work Out at the gym, right? So where am I going to go on social media to find these potential women? Well, Sis, prayer groups on Facebook have Christian women. And so if I go to these prayer groups on Facebook, and I definitely you have to engage, you have to be authentic. You have to serve other people first before you try to get them to get stuff from you. Okay? This is very, very important. But let's say that I joined these prayer groups and we were praying for each other, we're encouraging each other. And then somebody says: “Hey, you know what, I want to start working out”, I can then say: “Hey, I got this amazing gift. It's free. That's gonna give you 10 Bible verses that motivates you to work out as a Christian woman. Let me send it to you”. There you go. That's how you get people on your lead magnet.
On Instagram, you can go to social media influencers, who are Christian prayer warriors, and let's say that all they do all day is they pray for people on Instagram and there are some amazing influencers on Instagram who do stuff like that. I know that the people following them the women following them are Christians and so I can reach out to that influencer and say: “Hey, I I'd like to sponsor one of your posts, where you let your audience know about my free gift”. Now, the only people who are going to get that free gift are those who are interested in working out. If somebody who's not interested in working out, she's not going to go over and get your free gift. So now you're creating a targeted list of customers. If you don't want to pay influencers to do this, you can create your own posts using hashtags that Christian women are searching for, you know, prayer women, prayer women, prayer warriors, prayer coach, and things like that. It's you know, people are actually searching for so do your hashtag research. And then you create your posts in a way that is optimized for people to get your lead magnet. So my post could be: “here's three Bible verses that empower women of faith to actually go to the gym and workout.”
And then I use all my hashtags that women are searching for to find Christian content on Instagram. And then within that post, I say: “if you want my full list of 10 Bible verses, go ahead and click this link in order to get the free checklist emailed to you now”, you see what I'm doing there. So you're using the Instagram posts in order to drive traffic to your landing page so people can enter in their email address and get your lead magnet.
You can do the same thing with YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogging, ads, and with Pinterest. There are so many ways to drive traffic to lead magnets now that it's insane the amount of stuff that you can do. So just pick a marketing strategy that works for you, make sure it works for you. I will never understand why some people like try doing marketing strategies that they hate. Like I knew this girl who hated blogging, but somebody told her to blog and so she started a blog and she hated marketing. And I was like stop blogging, do something else do videos, do Instagram, do something else, but don't do something you hate. But anyway, find a marketing strategy that's authentic to you and works for you. And then be consistent in doing that marketing and getting that lead magnet in front of potential people for your email list. And as you build your email list, go ahead and use what I call the purpose profit formula. Ask your email list what kind of shirt they want, make that shirt for them and then sell it to them.
