Do you want to learn how to write an e-book and make money with digital products online to earn a passive income? Well sis, stay tuned to the end of this video because I am going to share four steps with you so you can achieve that.
My name is Stephanie Rodnez, Founder and CEO of the Godlywoodgirl and creator of the School of Business. My purpose in life is to help you achieve yours. So, if you want to learn how to write an e-book and make money with digital products, grab your pen and paper and let’s start.
Step 1: Identify Your Niche.
Step one is to identify your niche. The word “niche” refers to the segment of the population that you are writing your book for. The reason why you will want to first choose your niche is that every single book needs to be a clear solution to a clear problem. You cannot solve somebody’s problem unless you know they are, right? So get clear on the niche God purposed you to serve.
What is their age? What is their gender? Where do they live? What is their location? What is their discretionary income; their salary? How much do they have leftover to even buy books in the first place? What is their educational status? What are their hobbies and their interests? This refers to their psychographics; their behaviors. Their demographics are their physical characteristics whereas psychographics is their behavioral characteristics.
You will have to get extremely clear on the niche God pursed you to serve so you can write an amazing book to solve their problems. Keep in mind that your niche always has to do with your God-given purpose.
Sis, there is a reason why this channel is helping you achieve your purpose as a Christian entrepreneur. Your purpose is the way God created you to share the gospel of Christ on this earth. If you are a Christian entrepreneur, there is a piece of the body that the Lord purposed you to serve. As such, you want to get clear on who that is so you can build a business that is authentic to who God made you be.
There is no reason to build a business serving people that makes you miserable. I have done that before and I will not recommend it to you. I want you to have fun in your business and enjoy doing the work God purposed you to do. Make sure that whatever niche you have identified is in line with your God-given purpose. Step 2: Choose Your Digital Product
Once you have identified your niche, you need to identify the digital product you are going to sell to that niche in your book. A digital program is a product that you completely access online. It does not cost you anything in inventory because it is digital. It is a file, a bit of data online so it does not cost you any money to manufacture. Some great examples of digital products are online courses, coaching programs, e-books, audiobooks, and digital files that you can download. These are all great examples of digital products. So, you will have to identify the digital product you want to create for this niche. Keep in mind, I recommend a digital product that is a tier 3 or tier 4 offers. If you are in the Godlywoodgirl School of Business, you know exactly what I am talking about.
In the School of Business, I talk about the different types of tier products that you can sell to make more profit margin in your business. Tier 3 products are products that you retail for about $497 or more and tier 4 products are those that you can sell for $997 or more. The reason why I recommend you create a digital product that is tier 3 or tier 4 is that if you are selling your e-book, you are usually going to make $7 or $8. However, if you also use the e-book to presell a $497 product, then you are allowing yourself to make much more income.
So, an online course or a coaching program relents itself to a beautiful $497 or $997 product depending on what you choose. You can also choose to be an affiliate for somebody else’s product for your e-book as well. If you go to a website like Clickbank.com, they have tons of digital products that you can affiliate for. Some do make a 70-80 % commission on these products. So, you can choose somebody’s product as well. Just make sure that you love it, agree with it, and that it solves a problem for the niche God purposed you to serve.
Step 3: Write Your E-Book So It Presells The Digital Product.
Now that you have identified your digital product, you are going to write your book in a way that presells it. I am not the first one to do this and in my last video, I talked about this a lot. Jeff Walker did with his “Launch” book, Russel Bronson did it with his “Dotcom Series”, “Express Secrets” and his upcoming book, “Traffic Secrets”. Many online entrepreneurs have done this strategy and it is simply phenomenal. Use the book to solve a specific problem for your audience but in the book, offer them the chance to take the next step with you. That is the digital product that will help them solve even more problems.
If for example, I am launching a boss film “Mega Chick”, a brand that teaches women of Christ how to create their featured films online, then I can write a book that teaches Cristian women how to get confidence. The confidence needed to believe that they can be a filmmaker. I have got a whole e-book and it solves the problem of low self-esteem when it comes to being a filmmaker. Trust me when I say that it is tough to have confidence in the film. Particularly if you are a black woman. So, I can understand this problem. It is something that I suffered from for a long time.
So, I write a book to help women be able to get confident that they can produce a film, hallelujah. Then in the book, I will tell them that now that they have the confidence, if they need any help with the steps, they should sign up for my online course called “How to Produce a Featured Film Step-By-Step”. I would add that they can do that by going to a link. By doing this, I can retail that course for $497. You can purchase the e-book for $7 to read and feel confident. From there, you are ready to take the next step by upgrading to my program. This is how we use an e-book to presell a digital product. That is how we can make real money online.
You are solving people’s problems and solving them at different price points. Yet, you presell a product that is going to allow you to make a good amount of profit in your business. In the Godlywoodgirl School of Business, I always tell the girls: “no margin is equal to no mission”. As a Christian entrepreneur, you are here to be the representation of Christ. That is what we are here for: to share the gospel of Christ as a Christian entrepreneur. Sadly, we do not have money to do that unless we make enough margin in our business. For this to succeed, we need to make sure that we are pricing our products accordingly. This will help us to do the work God tasked us to do.
Step 4: Start Marketing Your Book Everywhere.
Finally, once you have written the book that presells your digital product, go ahead, and start marketing your book everywhere. Do marketing! Marketing!! Marketing!!! The whole point of writing this book is to get sales on your digital product. So, you have to get your e-book into the hands of as many people as possible. That is how you are going to be able to get sales. If you think of the conversion for an e-book, a well-written sales message usually gets one out of hundred people converging on your sales message. That is with a well- written message for cold traffic.
For warm traffic, the conversion is quite higher. For cold traffic, people have never heard of you. As such, only 1-5% of people who see your offer will converge. So, if you are thinking about your e-book, which means every 100 readers will take your digital product offer. Thus, you will have to get into the hands of as many people as possible. That is why here at Godlywoodgirl, I usually use a free marketing strategy. I will give the e-book away for free so that I can get to as many people as possible. It is mu h easier to give something out for free than get them to pay for it. You do not have to use this strategy if you do not want to. You can list it for sale, it is totally fine. Just make sure that you are doing consistent marketing to get the book out there.
