Choose Your Niche
So the first thing you want to do is choose your niche. On Instagram, there are lots of different topics, subjects, and themes that people use to feature their Instagram accounts. And you want to make sure that you have a clear theme for your Instagram account because that's how people are going to want to follow you. Think of your Instagram profile like a magazine. If there was a magazine that talked about business, lifestyle, branding, entrepreneurship, faith, spirituality, romances, fitness, and all these different things, then it's really difficult to subscribe to that magazine because it's talking about too much stuff. You're not interested in all that stuff, you just want to know about one specific thing. So on your Instagram account, you want to focus on one particular theme, one particular niche, and make sure all of your content is centered on that topic. So step number one is to pick your niche and it should be whatever God purpose you to do as a Christian entrepreneur. I always like to say this to my girls who are starting a Christian business online. Number one most important thing is to figure out how the Lord wants you to do this, because it's possible to build a business online but it can't stand. I know because I've done it like three times and if you haven't watched my story time video, check out my story time video, how I quit my nine to five job and you'll see all the ways that I failed before I figured out Godlywoodgirl, praise Jesus. So make sure that you are figuring out what God purposed you to be as a Christian entrepreneur before you even choose your niche. Email List
Now that you know the exact niche that your Instagram is going to focus on, the second step is to build your email list using your Instagram content that focuses on that niche. Now I have a video on my channel about how to build a business online using Instagram. And this is what you ought to do. You need to create a lead magnet. A lead magnet is a digital item that you give away for free in exchange for somebody's email address. And that lead magnet should have to do with the niche that you chose; a theme that you chose. If you chose a theme on your Instagram feed that focuses on celebrating dogs and you don't want your lead magnet to be a checklist on how to make your cat use a litter box. There’s no ad sense there, you want to make sure that whatever your lead magnet is has to do with the niche, the theme, the feature of your Instagram feed. And you give that lead magnet away using something called an opt- in page, or a squeeze page. It is a single web page where somebody can enter in their email address, and then you will send them that lead magnet automatically.
It's an automation, it happens on autopilot, so you don't have to do it by yourself every single time. So once you know what the lead magnet is, you're going to create Instagram content for your feed that points people to your lead magnet. So if you take a look at my content on Instagram, you'll notice that all my daily devotions that I post lead to the free Find Your Purpose Toolkit. So that's how I'm building my email list. I'm creating Instagram content designed around this theme of daily devotionals that help you live your purpose. And then the lead magnet is the free find your purpose toolkit. So my Instagram content points to my lead magnet. And that's what I want you to do as well.

Purpose Profit Formula
Once you have an email list that you built using Instagram, the third step is to ask your email list the kind of shirt they want. This is what I call the purpose profit formula. You discover your niche, you build your email list, and then you ask them what they want. And when they tell you, you give it to them. And this is such a cool strategy to use because you involve in your email list in the product creation strategy and the product creation process. So they feel like these shirts are as much theirs as it is yours. So go ahead and send your email list and say: “Hey, I'm building a new t- shirt for you. Would you prefer version A or version B? Would you prefer a pink or would you prefer it in white? Would you prefer it with sleeveless or would you prefer it with long sleeves”? You can involve your email as in the process and that way you're creating a shirt for them that they actually asked you for.

Sell Them the Shirts
And finally, step number four is to sell them that shirt. When you've involved them in the process, you've worked with them to build a shirt that they love and that they're excited about. Now sell them the shirts. Send them an email with a link to purchase the shirt for a limited time. You always want to use urgency scarcity, when you have a product based business. Some people disagree with me on this, that's fine. But what I've seen that works the best is when I give a certain timeframe for somebody to be able to purchase something at a discounted price that helps them to be able to move past the resistance of “taking out their credit card” and take action sooner rather than later. If somebody can always buy it, then they're just going to buy it when they feel like it but if they only have a limited amount of time to buy, they're going to be standing in line overnight waiting around the block.
Think about Black Friday. You only got 24 hours to get that $1,000 TV for $250. What are you going do? You will sleep overnight outside BestBuy to be the first in line to get that TV. You ought to do that same exact thing in your Christian business online. You need to create that urgency; create that scarcity. So allow that t- shirt to be available for a limited amount of time or allow the discount price to be available for a limited amount of time if you want to have your T shirts available forever. So that's how you sell your T shirts online using Instagram and you'll notice this is an email marketing strategy.
I am a big believer in email marketing I believe you need to own your audience and not worry about a social media platform to sell your shirts. I believe you need to sell your shirts with the audience that you own aka your email list.
